21 Days of Prayer – Day 2

Pastor Mark Price Blog

Did you know that God wants a relationship with you? You might ask, “Well, how does that happen?” There are lots of ways for your relationship to grow with God: 1) read the Bible, 2) fellowship with other believers, 3) attend a good, Bible-based church, 4) read books about God. There are many more ways to grow in your relationship with your heavenly Father. But one of the best, if not the best, is through prayer.

Prayer is talking to and talking with God. Prayer is meant to be a dialogue, two people talking with each other. Prayer is not meant to be a monologue, one person doing all the talking. God wants to talk with you. The most important relationship is the one you have with your Creator. It’s good to pray, spending time with the Father, but it’s also important to pray concerning your relationship with your Father. You do not want to have anything in your life that would hinder your relationship with Him.

In Psalms 51:10, David prayed, “Create in me a clean (pure) heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” You should pray every day that nothing will come into your life that would hurt, tarnish or hamper your relationship with your heavenly Father.

Pray:

“My Father in heaven, I pray for my relationship with You, today. I will be very purposeful in keeping a right relationship with You. I purpose in my heart to not let anything hurt or hinder my relationship with You. I make a covenant with my eyes, ears, thoughts and words to not look at anything, listen to anything, think anything and speak anything that would hurt my relationship with You. I will always be close to You. I am your son/daughter! Amen!”
